Practically everywhere I play, people comment on how beautiful my guitar looks and sounds. Fellow guitarists often ask what kind it is so, in this post, I'll put my beloved guitar in the spotlight. It's a Steve Andersen Vanguard 17"
www.andersenguitars.com. Steve is an independent luthier whose shop is in Seattle. Coincidentally, I used to live two blocks from his shop in Greenwood. It had been my dream to own one of his guitars for years before I finally got the opportunity to make it happen. Steve and I went through every detail and he built the perfect custom guitar for me. He's built many left-handed guitars and many seven-string guitars, but this was the first one to be both a lefty and a seven-string. It truly is a unique instrument. I'd highly recommend Steve's guitars to anyone who wants a hand built archtop of the highest quality. Steve's a great guy and his work is impeccable.

I'm happy to announce my return to Woody's On The Water (Tacoma, WA)
www.woodystacoma.com. I performed there for a year before moving from Seattle to Portland. I missed the people and I missed performing there, so I'm just going to suck it up and do the driving. I'll be back in the regular rotation (performing on select Saturdays) starting in May. Check my Music Calendar for exact dates and times. Come on out and enjoy the great food, the nice waterfront view and the solo jazz guitar stylings of yours truly. See you there!

So I performed for a corporate event in Reno this past weekend and narrowly avoided getting stranded there. It started snowing while I was playing and I didn't think much about it. However, by the next morning, the snow had accumulated to about 16"! I had to dig a path for the car in order to get out of the hotel parking lot. Luckily, I left the snow behind after 1 1/2 hours of driving and the roads were clear all the way back to Portland. The end :-)
Until next time,
Dennis
